Gaylord Christman (BSBA ’64), a longtime realtor in Billings, Montana, has raised $110,000 for Camp Mak-A-Dream, a nonprofit serving children and teenagers with cancer and their families.
1970

Wilder Bellamy (BA ’70) has published an e-book, “Wolf 3.0-A Dystopic Novella,” on the Wattpad website. Wilder had a 35-year career in IT, including shuttling between New Jersey and Evergreen for a year and a half.

Robert Cooperman (PhD ’77) has recently published two poetry collections: “Reefer Madness” and “Go Play Outside.”
1980

Gregory Jones (BA ’80) was the featured preacher on Easter day for Day 1, a national weekly ecumenical radio program produced by the Alliance for Christian Media. Gregory is president of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. An ordained United Methodist minister, he is the author or editor of 19 books, including “Christian Social Innovation” and “Embodying Forgiveness.”
1981
Caroline Smith (BS ’81) completed the Assault on Mt. Mitchell road ride on May 16. Starting from Spartanburg, South Carolina, she rode 102.7 miles and climbed 11,400 feet, reaching the top of Mount Mitchell (elevation 6,684 feet) in 8:03:00. Caroline won the 60–64 age bracket.
1983
Tim Foster (JD ’83) received a Governor’s Citizenship Medal from Gov. Jared Polis in April. The Public and Community Service Medal was awarded to Tim for his contributions as president of Colorado Mesa University and for his service in the Colorado House of Representatives.

1984
Douglas Towne (BA ’84) of Gold Canyon, Arizona, won the badminton mixed doubles at the 2022 National Senior Games in Fort Lauderdale, repeating his performance in the 2019 event. Douglas was also a bronze medalist in men’s doubles and wore his DU Pioneer ball cap on both occasions on the podium.

Mark Johnson (BSBA ’87) has joined Guaranteed Rate, a leader in mortgage lending and digital financial services, as vice president of mortgage lending at its Santa Barbara location. Mark has more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience.

Steve Tempelman (JD ’94) has joined Marqeta Inc., a leading Bay Area financial technology company, as senior employment counsel.

1995
Charlotte Sweeney (JD ’95) was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Colorado’s next federal judge. Charlotte, a workers’ rights attorney, is the first openly gay federal judge in the state. Her confirmation marks the first time that three women will simultaneously serve as trial judges on Colorado’s seven-member U.S. District Court.

Gordon P. Gallagher (JD ’96), a federal magistrate judge based in Grand Junction, is one of three candidates nominated by Sens. Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper to fill an upcoming vacancy on Colorado’s seven-member federal trial court.

Mohammad Al-Sahib (BSBA ’00) was appointed CEO of Zamil Industrial Investment Co. in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Mohammad has more than 22 years of experience in the construction and management sectors, as well as in business-development strategies.
2004
Jonathan Levesque (BSBA ’04, MAcc ’05) was selected as the next chief financial officer for Littleton Public Schools (LPS), effective July 1. Jonathan has 11 years with LPS, along with a deep understanding and appreciation for public school districts.

2006
Erin M. Rowe Wilson (JD ’06) was appointed by Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to be county court judge for Routt County in the 14th Judicial District. Erin lives with her family in Steamboat Springs. Previously, she represented the indigent criminally accused as a deputy public defender and a contract attorney with Colorado’s Office of Alternate Defense Counsel.

Rahul Choudaha (PhD ’08) was appointed managing director of higher education at Morning Consult in Washington, D.C. In this role, Rahul leads research and insights services for informing strategic decisions of communication, development and enrollment leaders at universities and colleges.
2009
Taryn (Cornelius) Burnett (MPS ’09) was promoted to director of hospital operations for campus planning at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The hospital, located in Houston, is one of the nation’s busiest level 1 trauma centers and spans more than 3 million square feet.

2010
Shannon Walker (MLIS ’10), Arizona State University archivist, was featured in a story for the ASU News for her work uncovering the identity of ASU’s first female African American graduate in 1925.
2012
Gideon Geisel (MA ’12) was named dean of the College of Trades, Industry and Professional Studies at the Emily Griffith Technical College. Gideon previously served as assistant principal at George Washington High School for 11 years.
2015
Corbin Clement (MS ’15) is the new digital analyst for the ecommerce team at Specialized Bicycle Components. Corbin will help drive the brand’s rapid expansion as a D2C business and will ride plenty of bikes. The remote position will allow him to return to the Denver area.

2019
Chelsea Hernandez (BA ’19) has been named morning show producer at KING 5 Media Group in Seattle. Chelsea previously participated in a producer-in-residence program through TEGNA, one of the largest and most geographically diverse broadcasters in the U.S.
